Design Studio at the Indies factory
Manufacturing

Design & development.

Two studios, one file. Concepts developed in London are translated into production-ready tech packs and patterns in India overnight, so a comment at 5pm becomes a revised pattern by morning.

Our London design team and Indian tech-pack studios collaborate on every collection — from mood boards and hand sketches to CAD, digital pattern making and physical sample development.

From reference to tech pack

A mood board, a garment you like or a flat sketch is enough to start. We build the tech pack: construction callouts, stitch types, seam allowances, trim schedule, measurement chart and grade rules — the document every downstream department works from.

Pattern making and grading

Patterns are drafted digitally on Gerber and Optitex, graded across your full size range and archived per style. Blocks developed for you are exclusive to you and reused on every subsequent order.

Sample rounds that converge

Proto for silhouette, fit for body, PP for contract. Each round ships with photographs on a mannequin at four angles and a measured spec sheet against tolerance, so remote approval does not cost a round.

Next capability

How a collection is made

Four stages, one accountable supply chain.

Every Indies programme follows the same route from first brief to loaded container — managed by a UK account team and produced on Indies-owned floors in India.

Brief & Costing

Brief & Costing

Tech packs, sketches or reference garments are costed by our London merchandising desk, typically within three business days.

Sampling

Sampling

Proto, fit and pre-production samples are made in our own sample rooms in 10–15 days, with lab dips approved before bulk dyeing.

Bulk Production
