Quality at the Indies factory
Manufacturing

Zero-defect standard.

Quality is a sequence of gates, not a final inspection. Fabric, in-line, end-of-line and pre-shipment each stop different failures at the cheapest possible moment.

Fabric testing, in-line inspection, 100% needle detection, AQL 2.5 final inspection and metal detection on every garment before packing.

Before a panel is cut

Every fabric lot is tested for GSM, shrinkage, spirality, pilling and colourfastness, and inspected on a light table using the four-point system. Fabric that fails is rejected at the mill stage, not discovered at final audit.

In-line beats final

Roving QC audits at 20% and 60% of line output. A recurring construction fault is corrected within a shift rather than found on three thousand finished units, which is the difference between a fix and a rework charge.

Final and pre-shipment

AQL 2.5 final inspection with the defect breakdown shared in full, followed by 100% needle and metal detection. Third-party inspection by SGS, Intertek or your own QA is welcomed and scheduled at your convenience.

How a collection is made

Four stages, one accountable supply chain.
